Mega Man: Bot in the Family Hits Kickstarter, Smashes Goal in Half an Hour
Have you heard the news?
Mega Man: Bot in the Family, a sort of Mega Man-centric spiritual successor to the Brawl in the Family comic by Matthew Taranto, has hit Kickstarter!
And you don’t have to do a blasted thing!
In a feat that can be described as nothing short of “remarkable,” the Kickstarter came, it saw, and it not only kicked starter, but it kicked ass as well, smashing past its $19,870 USD goal in just half an hour! As of this writing, it now sits at $89,526 USD. And there are still 28 days to go!
That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t chip in, though. While the book is secure, there are still stretch goals. The first, adding an epilogue chapter, has already been cleared. So has improving the overall quality of the publication. But while the book will cover each of the 11 mainline Mega Man games, well, there’s still others.
Others, like Mega Man & Bass, don’t fit so neatly into that category, and that’s what the current stretch goal is all about: Including it anyway!
It looks like if they hit this, there may yet be further stretch goals to come. What could they be? Well, there are five Game Boy titles, plus stuff like Super Adventure Rockman and Mega Man: Battle & Chase. Or it could be something else entirely! Only one way to find out!
And then there are the rewards! Oh, the rewards!
The “Unique Sketch & Autograph” and “Design Your Own Robot Master” tiers are all gone, but there’s still plenty of others left, many with more tangible goods!
Still not sure? Well, you can check out the full Kickstarter here for all the details, and you can even check out a sampling of some of the strips that will be included here!
Mega Man: Bot in the Family is created by Matthew Taranto and will be published by NF Publishing (hey, I know those guys!) under official license from Capcom.
