Nadia & David’s Mega Man Mayhem: Mega Man: The Wily Wars – Wily Tower
After finishing Mega Man 10 last episode, we were faced with a choice: Carry on to Mega Man 11, the first game of the modern age of Mega Man, or go back to Mega Man: The Wily Wars and take on the perils of “Wily Tower” to cap off the first era.
As you can probably tell from the headline and graphic, we chose Option B.
In anticipation of this, I replayed all three Genesis versions of Mega Man, Mega Man 2, and Mega Man 3 to unlock this portion of the game. A portion, I will add, that Nadia has never played before. In fact, she hasn’t really played much of this particular package at all.
But that just makes it a little more fun…
I wasn’t sure how long this would take us, as it’s been a while since I played it, but it turned out to just about fill the length of an episode nicely!
This game gets a ton of flack, it seems, but as I said in the video, it’s not that bad. As good as the NES games? With the possible exception of the first, no, not so much. But it’s definitely worth a look for the curious Mega Man fan who would like to see some familiar sights with a new coat of paint, and “Wily Tower” is a fun challenge in its own right, complete with unique stages and bosses! After all, it’s not every day you get your pick of a loadout of weapons from across three games! It’s definitely worth a look if you have the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pass.
Next time on “Nadia & David’s Mega Man Mayhem”, we move on to Mega Man 11 (for real this time)! Should be fun to see how that one goes, and how we tackle it.
But in about two weeks (unless something comes up), we’re back from our Star Fox detour on “Nadia & David Ruin Video Games,” and picking up where we left off with the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder!
Of course, life happens, and while Mega Man plans, Dr. Wily laughs. So follow The Mega Man Network on Bluesky and Twitter, and we usually announce what we’re doing, if we’re doing it about a day out.

“Nadia & David’s Mega Man Mayhem” is a 90-minute stream we’ll be doing about once a month, where the plan is to play through every Mega Man game we can in (mostly) chronological order, according to the timeline. We started with the first Mega Man, and after we finished that, started Mega Man 2, and so on. Next time, we’ll pick up where we left off, and go on like so.
Once Classic is done, we’ll move on to Mega Man X, then Mega Man Zero, and so on. (And with any luck, there will be a “Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection” or something by the time we get to that, but if not, we have a contingency or two in mind.)
And of course, we love interacting with the chat during these streams, so if you’ve got questions about the Mega Man Field Guides from UDON, Legends of the Halcyon Era, poutine recipes, or just want to chat and share the love of Mega Man, drop on in! We’d love to have you!
Keep an eye on our Twitter (or just the Twitter sidebar here) to find out when we’re streaming next! We usually announce it a day or so ahead of time.
And if you’d like to support our streaming habits, please be sure to consider donating to our Ko-fi or Patreon!
