It’s been a little while since we last heard from the folks over at Get Me Off the Moon about their planned 8-bit fan game version of the “Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version” known as “Mega Man Legends 3: The Prologue.” But now the game is on the way, and there’s a new trailer to get us all hyped!

Nintendo has just concluded their Super Smash Bros. Direct video, and as you can probably guess from our posting about it here, there was indeed new information about Mega Man’s part in the game to behold!

After a long wait that stretches back 14 years, several fans have made breakthroughs in four different Mega Man games. Protodude of Protodude’s Rockman Corner, along with a few other dedicated fans have made available prototype and beta versions of Rockman X5, Mega Man Legends 2, and The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, along with a hacked debug mode in Mega Man 8.

It’s been a little while since we last posted about a Neo Devroom Event from 100,000 Strong for Mega Man Legends 3 in this space, but the folks there have come up with a fun and fascinating idea for a new contest in the spirit of those once held by Capcom for the ill-fated project: Airships!

From the ashes of the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version rises 2D-RockmanDash3 The Prologue, which seems to be coming together very well. 

Mega Man fans are no strangers to cliffhangers; they’ve existed in the franchise for nearly as long as it’s been around, dating all the way back to Mega Man 3… or even Mega Man 2, if you really couldn’t get past what Rock’s image flickering in transition to an empty helmet was supposed to mean.
