For the second year in a row, The Mega Man Network has been fortunate enough to interview “the father of Mighty No. 9“, Keiji Inafune. Of course, he is also famous for, among other things, being the father to another famous blue robot. Read on to find out his inspiration and thoughts about the Mighty No. 9‘s Xel system, what he thinks of his fans, and more.

Just about a year ago, The Mega Man Network was invited to interview the father of Mega Man, Keiji Inafune, following the reveal of Mighty No. 9. One of his parting gifts was putting his signature on two American Mega Man 2 cartridges.

ScrewAttack has just announced that the guest of honor at the 2014 ScrewAttack Gaming Convention, or SGC, will be none other than Mighty No. 9 (and former Mega Man) mastermind, Keiji Inafune!

Following the initial announcement trailer earlier, further details on Inti Creates’ upcoming Nintendo 3DS eShop game Azure Striker Gunvolt have been revealed, thanks to Destructoid.

Hot on the heels of a Mighty No. 9 presentation at the Bitsummit conference, Keiji Inafune announced Azure Striker Gunvolt, a 2D action game which bares more than a passing resemblance to Mega Man Zero and Mega Man ZX!

Recently, we got to see some screens from the very-early-in-development α２ ROM of Mighty No. 9, courtesy of a sneak-peek provided to members of Comcept’s forum dedicated to the game. At the recent D.I.C.E. 2014 expo, Inafune held a talk and featured the following short clip of himself playing the ROM.

It’s not a surprise if a hit video game proves popular enough to spawn a motion picture deal, but before the game is even made? That would be some uncharted territory indeed.

As you might have heard, Mighty No. 9 producer Nick Yu recently popped up on the super-secretive forums for the game to share with everyone a few new screens of the extremely early in-development game’s progress. We’re probably talking pre-White City level early here, for those who can remember that from Mega Man X (and if you don’t… maybe we can talk about it sometime).
