Inti Creates Makes Two Big Gunvolt Announcements at Anime Fest 2016

At the 2016 Anime Expo held in Los Angeles over July 4th weekend, Inti Creates took to the stage for a panel to make two sizable announcements.

The first announcement came with a trailer revealing that an anime based on Azure Striker Gunvolt is on the way:

Rather than a series, the anime will be an original video animation (OVA) which is being produced by LandQ Studios and will be available in the winter of 2016 via on-demand services — possibly including the Nintendo eShop.

What’s more, while Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 currently lacks a release date any more specific than “Summer 2016,” the company has announced that both it and its predecessor will see a new physical release in a two-pack for the Nintendo 3DS called “Azure Strike Gunvolt Striker Pack,” complete with a trailer of its own:

Slated for a release on September 30th, 2016, the physical release will be published by none other than Yacht Club Games, of Shovel Knight fame. The trailer above recaps what the first game is about, and also gives us a good look at the sequel, including a more in-depth look at Copen’s abilities and play style.
