Ariga Teases New Mega Man Project

Thanks to a tip from our friendly neighborhood Wilyman, we learned a little bit ahead of schedule that Hitoshi Ariga, writer/artist for the Megamix and Gigamix line of Mega Man manga, has revealed on his deviantART account that he is “currently working on a new Mega Man project!”
Unfortunately, that’s all he says. And no, the picture at right has nothing to do with it, as far as we know– we merely grabbed the latest Mega Man picture from his gallery to illustrate the post, so please don’t read into it too much.

So, to what might he be referring? Could he be speaking of the upcoming Mega Man Maniax manga? A newer manga project? And don’t forget, he was also the one to oversee the Mega Man and Mega Man X Official Complete Works art books.

Or, if we could be permitted to speculate wildly upon a dream scenario… could Capcom have possibly brought him in to help with a new Mega Man game?

Okay, so maybe we should dial those expectations down a little bit. Still, feel free to theorize in the comments.
