So What’s the Deal with Elements and Boss Weaknesses in Mighty Gunvolt Burst?
Hey everyone, just a quick update here. If you’ve got a Nintendo Switch, I hope you’re having a “mighty” good time with Mighty Gunvolt Burst, and those waiting for the Nintendo 3DS version? Don’t worry, it’s worth the wait.
Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to play it since posting my review (but boy, have I been wanting to), so I’ve not been able to delve into a subject which came up in the comments, that being how special weapons work.
To be honest, it was something of a mystery to me then, and it’s only now thanks to ShadowRockZX — who shared that nice in-depth analysis of the game’s trailer a few weeks back — that I understand what’s going on. So if you’re trying to figure out why your fire shots aren’t doing anything to Cryo, then watch this:
It’s admittedly a touch bizarre, but I recommend not to let that shade your perception of the game before trying it. It’s still a lot of fun that manages to evoke the original Mega Man games while still shaking up and evolving the formula enough to feel like the spiritual successor we were looking for in Mighty No. 9.
And if you’d like to see more of the game in action, there’s a whole playlist of four videos to peruse over on ShadowRockZX’s channel.
Now to resume recovering and catching up on stuff I missed during E3. Enjoy your weekend!
