Yūko Mizutani, Voice of Iris, Has Passed Away

In a sad bit of news, reports say that Yūko Mizutani, the Japanese voice actress known for a variety of roles such as Sora Takenouchi in Digimon Adventure, has died. Previously, she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and she passed away on May 17th at the age of 51.

Mega Man fans may remember her best as the voice of Iris, and while she was naturally replaced in the localization of Rockman X4, her part was preserved in the western release of Project X Zone, where she reprised the role alongside others. In addition, Wikipedia credits her as “Rochinolle” from Mega Man Zero (though in all honesty, I can’t seem to find who that was).
