So, funny thing: I was sure I’d talked about Kaizō Chōjin Shubibinman Zero in some form or fashion here before, but a search for it brings back absolute zilch. So since it was recently brought back to my attention by not one, but two different sources, I figure it’s worth officially making a note of here.
First up is a summary/mini-review of this all-but-forgotten Super Nintendo Entertainment System — or rather, Super Famicom title from 1994, courtesy of SNES Drunk:
If you’d like to see more gameplay from the title’s 2-player mode, which also helps highlight the soundfont that sounds very much like Mega Man X games from the Super NES, then Roberto (who first alerted me to this) passed along this video longplay:
As noted by SNES Drunk, there are other titles in the series, some more Mega Man-like than others, all for the TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine. Unfortunately, none of the entries in the series will be included in the upcoming TurboGrafx-16 mini Console, so you’ll have to do some digging around in order to find them.
If you’d like to check out some further reading on the series, then Hardcore Gaming 101 has you covered.
