Wherein Power Corrupts

Hey, remember last year when we posted that April Fool’s Day joke about a Mighty No. 9 animated series? We all had a good laugh over that one, didn’t we?

And then, it actually happened?

Well, power has clearly gone to my head. I figure if I can shape the rivers of destiny and flood the future with the thoughts that flow forth from my mind, I might as well take advantage of it, right?

So here we go: The following things are totally going to happen, you guys– none of these are obvious April Fool’s Day jokes, okay? *wink-wink*

• Following in the footsteps of their ventures with Bayonetta 2 and Devil’s Third (as well as Sony’s involvement with Street Fighter V), Nintendo has reacted to the popular response of Mega Man’s reveal in Super Smash Bros. and is now paying Capcom to make Mega Man Legends 3.
• Literacy is cool again, and readership for Archie’s Mega Man comic book has gone through the roof, giving it the numbers necessary for a Mega Man X comic to go into production. The new book will debut later this year, just in time for the Blue Bomber’s 28th anniversary in December.
• Bandai has realized that there is more mileage they can get out of the classic Mega Man Figuarts figure, and has announced (exclusively to us, of course) that Proto Man and Cut Man figures are on the way!
• Since they have to hire new voice actors for Mega Man Legends 3 anyway, Capcom has said “what the heck” and is creating Mega Man Legends Collection HD, exclusively for the Wii U (because if Nintendo is funding the sequel, where else is it going to go?). It features high definition remastered versions of both PlayStation One games, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, and for the heck of it and they already had to stand up to do this, all those little cell phone-exclusive games from Japan.

And before anyone thinks I’ve forgotten about Mega Man X, etc., that’s not the case; those are being saved for next year after this trial run. For now, let’s see if any miracles happen– er, I mean, “just you wait and see how totally legitimate these stories are.”
