Are patches for Mega Man X4 on PC becoming a thing now?

Following some feedback, TheNM22 has returned to fill in the gaps left in an otherwise comprehensive comparison between the two versions of the original Mega Man X game.

Back in the early 90’s, Mega Man X came to gamers in two forms: One for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and the other for Personal Computers (with its own controller, no less!).

We’ve just learned that Mega Man and Mega Man 3 are now both available to play for free, right from the comfort of your own home computer via your browser. And by “free to play,” we’re not talking about the more negative mobile connotation of the term– we mean you start it up and you play it without paying anything, completely legitimately!
