History: Janine is a technorganic “Ancient.” Despite being hundreds of years old, her appearance is that of a stunning young woman in her mid-20s. Her body could be — and has occasionally been — described as “beyond perfect”. Intimidatingly, unrealistically perfect. The kind of perfect that isn’t born, but rather *made*.

Once upon a time, Janine acted as a Bureaucratic unit for the System. That is, until she was manipulated by her one-time romantic partner, Sherman East, into taking part in a technorganic uprising against their superiors. With East dealt with and losses suffered by the System, Janine would resume her duties as a systems administrator for Eden, but do so while imprisoned. In essence, her own systems were used to continue performing her function while now lacking the autonomy she once enjoyed, trapped in a cube-shaped prison within a high-security ruin. Only occasionally would she be allowed out, and only to try and protect the ruin’s main refractor from meddling Diggers.

After being freed from her imprisonment and defeated by a pair of Diggers named Nytetrayn and Fenix, she wound up leaving with them, and now stays in their apartment, happily venturing off on digs with them, as she likes to make things blow up. It wasn’t long before one such dig led to the group accidentally freeing her old beau from his own imprisonment, and he repaid the favor by partially restoring her lapsed memories. These would be fully restored later after a visit to Archie Island, thanks to MegaMan Rom.

Even in this time alone, she’s been involved with several romantic partners, including Fenix and Xenos Geist. She’s also shown a more one-sided affection towards Celeste, and after East destroyed Archie Island, had to deal with the awkwardness of having her ex, MegaMan Magnus, around. However, she seems to have found something different with another Digger by the name of Black Steel.

Following a return encounter with East, she and the rest journeyed with Nytetrayn and the rest of the group to Avion, where she discovered that East had burned out her energy generators — leaving her grounded and effectively without any powers. More pressing, however, has been how hellbent on revenge Steel has become since regaining his lost memories.

Personality: Janine is a little flaky and very flirtatious, as after being cooped up by herself (save for one guardian kangaroo Reaverbot nicknamed “Big Willie”) for millennia, she now craves social interaction in all of its forms, and life is now like one big never-ending weekend for her.

It took some time before she adjusted to the social norms of the day, but now she’s into doing cheesecake-style posing, cosplay, and bubble baths, as well as using any combination of those to make some extra money through pin-ups and video sales to some of the visitors who pass through Monroe Island. However, if someone oversteps their boundaries — with her or one of her friends — then her fiery temper can be quick to ignite (though she can also be quick to forgive).

She has taken well to Digging, particularly the part where she gets to blow things up.

Likes: Finding new characters to cosplay, teasing Celeste (and occasionally Nytetrayn), hanging out with her new friends, and long, relaxing baths.

Dislikes: Body shaming, kangaroos (specifically Reaverbot kangaroos), and the awkwardness of dealing with her exes.

Shticks: Very open with her body (but no touching without permission), and usually has little in the way of shame. She has run up against that particular self-conscious wall more recently, thanks to Steel and Tom. She’ll often be wearing different costumes on Digs.

Abilities: Previously, Janine was multiple times stronger than a human of a similar build, and could fly under her own power. She was also capable of creating various energy constructs, but an encounter with Sherman East overloaded her energy generators for those systems beyond repair, thus negating these abilities. She does retain superhumanly durable skin, though.

As a Bureaucratic Unit, her flightiness betrays — or sometimes augments — her intelligence, and she can prove to be a savvy negotiator. Combined with her looks, there’s not a lot out of her reach if she really wants it.

During one outing in which she cosplayed as an action hero archaeologist, she proved herself to be terrifyingly proficient with a bullwhip.

Weaknesses: Despite her intelligence and penchant for blowing things up, Janine wasn’t designed with combat as a priority, and so she is not especially savvy when it comes to battle. Before, she was capable of tanking most of her opposition, but if that wasn’t enough, she could be in trouble. Now that she’s been effectively de-powered, it remains to be seen how she might adapt. She’s also been known to panic when she thinks a kangaroo-like Reaverbot is near.

Weapons/Attacks: Janine’s energy generators once allowed her to project various levels of energy blast, form energy blades for more melee-styled attacks, and generate a protective energy shield. She’s also been known to create flame-like attacks and stop solid-round ordnance in mid-flight. After being de-powered by East, she possesses no particular weapons or offensive capabilities at this time.
