ScrewAttack Unveils Jump’N’Shoot Attack for Mobile
ScrewAttack has announced that they are releasing “a mobile game for gamers… that doesn’t suck” in Jump’N’Shoot Attack, which is due for release on iPhones, iPads, Android devices, and Windows phones this month.
Given the visual style and that people sometimes affectionately refer to Mega Man as “Jump’N’Shoot Man,” it’s hard not to see this as a “Mega Man-esque” homage to the Blue Bomber. It’s being developed by FreakZone Games, the same indie developer responsible for MANOS: The Hands of Fate and Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures.
In the announcement on ScrewAttack.com, the developer states “…many gamers don’t have much interest in mobile gaming due to ‘virtual buttons’ not being responsive enough, and the ‘free to play’ model offering ‘endless’ games with no goal other than to pay more money for more unnecessary features. Jump’N’Shoot Attack has been designed and built with these people in mind, the two-touch control scheme is perfect for a touch-screen, the game has a beginning, middle and end, the challenge is high with no loss of responsiveness, and the game is to be sold at an upfront price with no IAP or ads.”
If you’re attending PAX East next week, the developer’s website/Tumblr reveals there will be an arcade unit on hand for you to try the game out.
