Mega Man II and Mega Man III Now Available on Virtual Console

Just like the headline says, the second and third Mega Man games are now available for the Virtual Console! Which Virtual Console? The Nintendo 3DS one, of course.

That’s not going to get the slightest bit confusing, is it? After all, it’s not like there are any other games with those same names on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, right? …oh.

So it begins. I was truly hoping that Capcom would do as they did for Commando on the NES and retitle it, even if only in the Nintendo eShop and press releases, rather than in the actual game itself. Perhaps to “Mega Man World” or something, but no dice, apparently.

That said, if you know someone who likes Mega Man but isn’t as “in” to the franchise enough to know the difference (such people do exist), you may want to shed some light on the subject for them and assure them that these are indeed different games and that they– the later ones, especially– are definitely worth playing.
