All About Mega Man at SDCC 2018

The 2018 San Diego Comic-Con is coming up fast, kicking off on July 19th and running through July 22nd. Are you going to be at the show? As a true-blue Mega Man fan, here’s what you’re going to want to be on the lookout for.

First up, there are these two Mega Man 30th Anniversary pins from UDON Collectibles. One features the Mega Man 30th Anniversary logo, while the other (which I’m particularly partial to) paired with its cardback closely resembles a certain Robot Master Field Guide.

Each pin is $15, and the quantities available are extremely limited. However, if you’d like to secure yours, you can do so by pre-ordering at the UDON Collectibles website before July 17th, 2018.

Sadly, I won’t be at the show, so I may not be able to get one (without paying aftermarket prices, at least). More’s the pity.

Next up on your itinerary: How about some tunes? Er, rather, how about some toons?

Via ComicBook.com: From 6pm to 7pm on Friday, July 20th, a panel is going to be held in Room 25ABC that will give a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Mega Man: Fully Charged animated series that will arrive on Cartoon Network later this year. The description reads:

Kazuhiro Tsuchiya (Capcom, video game producer, Mega Man, Asura’s Wrath), Man of Action (creators of Ben 10 and the team and characters of Big Hero 6), and Logan McPherson (DHX Studios, VP, creative and animated production, Slugterra, The Deep, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2D series) give a behind-the-scenes peek into the production of this new animated show, aimed at kids 5 to 11. Celebrating the 30-year legacy of this iconic, game-based character, the panelists will discuss the background and creative evolution of the new series, followed by screening of never-before-seen footage from the show, coming soon to Cartoon Network.

In addition, ComicBook.com reports that Capcom will be holding their own panel the day before (Thursday, July 19th) from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in Room 6BCF (where do they come up with these room designations? “The Itchy Lot”, this ain’t). Tsuchiya will be pulling double-panel duty here, and be joined by Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 producer Nonaka Daizo and Capcom Unity’s Tim Turi to show off some more Mega Man 11 footage and host some trivia and giveaways.

Finally, if all that wasn’t enough for you, there’s a little bit more swag to grab. GameSpot’s list of the “Coolest Exclusives” you can get at the show not only includes the above pins, but also this nifty keychain of the Mega Man: Fully Charged version of our hero. It may be from the cartoon, but by just having the head there, it kind of looks like a 1UP from the games, doesn’t it?
