Ripot’s Round-Up – 4/10/15 – Awesome Video Edition

Wow, it’s almost as though someone tilted the week and most of the news slid down towards the end!

In the interest of time, I’ve rounded up all the video submissions and stuff I’ve found into one handy-dandy article here. Enjoy!

First up, Comcept has quietly uploaded a video featuring voice clips of four characters from Mighty No. 9. Listen as Yuri Lowenthal, Matt Mercer, Paige King, and Jan Johns give you a taste of the personalities of Beck, Pyrogen, Cryosphere, and Dynatron:

As this is just part one, more are certain to be coming, so stay tuned!

Thanks for the tip, Michael S!

Hey, remember that time Lucas Gilbertson, the voice of Zero from Mega Man X: Command Mission, Mega Man X8, and Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X, decided to redub the “Death of Iris” cutscene from Mega Man X4? In case you don’t, here’s his reupload of the video:

As it happens, he hasn’t stopped there! A couple of days ago, he also uploaded a redub of Zero and Colonel’s (voiced by James Jordan) clash at the halfway point of that same game, before they’re interrupted by Carol-Anne Day’s Iris:

Before that, though, he did something a bit different: Voicing the version of Zero from Mega Man Zero, with Chandler VanFossen as Copy X (and a bit of a twist at the end):

Hopefully we’ll get to hear yet more from him in the future!

Thanks for the tip, Wira!

Next, a lot of people have long felt that as good as Mega Man 3 for the NES was, it was missing a little something. As Keiji Inafune would later reveal, a rushed development ended up meaning it was missing a lot of things, but as far as this topic is concerned, the main thing is that unlike the games which preceded it (barring the original) and those that came after, the third Mega Man game was missing a good intro to go along with its great title screen tune.

Thanks to a tip from MegaManUSA on Twitter, however, we can see that one ZorakStart on YouTube has done a fine job of remedying this shortcoming with this video:

“There has been much speculation as to why Mega Man 3 did not have an introductory sequence like Mega Man 2, 4, 5, and 6. Well I’m sick of wondering, so here’s a Mega Man 3 intro the way PStart and MegaManUSA envisioned it.”

Now, if only we could find a way for Capcom to add this somehow…

Finally, we’ve offered a little bit of coverage of FreakZone Games and ScrewAttack’s mobile platformer, Jump’N’Shoot Attack, but not much else. As it happens, Mike Jeavons of Channel Awesome has made a brief (but Not Safe For Work) APPitude review of the title:

Incidentally, if you’re interested in a TMMN review of the game, let me know in the comments and I’ll see if I can squeeze it in!

That’s it for now. Have a great weekend!
