20XXpo: A New Mega Man Fan Festival Launches for the Series’ 40th Anniversary
20XXpo is a new fan-run Mega Man convention launching a Kickstarter today, with a three-day event planned near Seattle in August 2027.
SEATTLE, WA — May 1, 2026 — 20XXpo, a fan-built convention focused entirely on the Mega Man franchise, has launched its Kickstarter campaign. The event is scheduled for August 27–29, 2027 at the Lynnwood Event Center in Lynnwood, Washington, coinciding with Mega Man’s 40th anniversary.
Mega May Is Live Now
The 20XXpo community has already begun celebrating with Mega May, a month-long livestream event running April 30 through June 1. The goal is to complete every Mega Man game ever released across a continuous 769-hour marathon broadcast on Twitch and YouTube.

What Is 20XXpo?
20XXpo is a fan-focused event built around the Mega Man community and its long-standing traditions, including speedrunning, music, cosplay, and fan creations.
The three-day event will include:
Gaming
Tournaments, fan game showcases, indie titles, a console lounge spanning the series’ history, and custom arcade experiences
Live Music
Two nights of performances from artists inspired by Mega Man and game music culture
Panels
Voice actor Q&As, creator discussions, and community-led programming
Cosplay
A full cosplay contest with dedicated photo spaces and themed environments
Marketplace
Vendor hall, Artist Alley, and meet-and-greets with creators
Mega Man-athon
The return of the long-running 72-hour charity speedrunning marathon, streamed publicly
Mega Man-athon Returns
Mega Man-athon, previously featured at MAGFest, returns as a core part of 20XXpo. The 72-hour charity marathon will run continuously throughout the weekend, including overnight hours when the convention floor is closed.
The stream will continue remotely through partner locations and community hubs, ensuring uninterrupted coverage. As with past events, the Mega Man-athon broadcast will be available to watch for free.
Virtual Access Available
20XXpo will also offer a Virtual Badge for fans unable to attend in person.
The virtual experience will include dedicated streams for concerts, panels, and other programming, along with community interaction through the official Discord server. Mega Man-athon will remain freely accessible, while additional content will be included as part of the Virtual Badge.
First Guests Announced
The first announced guests include:
- Ian James Corlett, voice of Mega Man in the 1994 animated series
- Vincent Tong, voice of Mega Man in Mega Man: Fully Charged
Additional guests will be announced through stretch goals as the campaign progresses.
Kickstarter Details
The Kickstarter campaign launches today with a funding goal of $87,000.
Reward tiers include:
- Community support tier ($1)
- Virtual access tiers
- Early-bird and standard weekend badges
- Merchandise bundles
- Collector items, including a commemorative Blu-ray
This is an all-or-nothing campaign. If the goal is not met, no funds will be collected.
