Nadia & David’s Mega Man Mayhem: Mega Man 7 (Part 1)

Ah… finally, time to slip back into something more comfortable.

While playing through (most of) the Game Boy Mega Man games from the Classic series (still got the Xtreme titles, eventually) was a blast and something different and refreshing, it’s nice to get back to the core series we’ve played so much of. And to step into the next generation of Mega Man with Mega Man 7 from the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, via Mega Man Legacy Collection 2!

Now We’re Playing With Power… Super Mega Power!

I was hopeful we might be able to knock this out in one session, just as we did the first two games in the series, but alas. That was probably a bit naive, anyway, what with all the little things to do and find for full completion, anyway, but at least we knocked out the eight Robot Masters, so we’ll probably take out the rest next time!

Oh, and for those wondering: We figured out the Big Eddie situation after shutting off the stream. Apparently, someone at Capcom decided to remap the menu subscreen button to the same button that functions as the button to summon Big Eddie, which is what was designated as the “Select” button on the Super NES, while what would have been the Start button still does… other stuff the Start button did? I don’t understand it, and it’s poorly explained, to boot. But at least we figured it out.

Next time we stream, we’re going to try — again — to finish Super Mario RPG for the Nintendo Switch on “Nadia & David Ruin Video Games,” probably on May 10th. And since we left off at the start of Smithy’s Lair, I don’t think there’s anything else I’m forgetting between that and the end of the game this time! And when “Nadia & David’s Mega Man Mayhem” returns, probably May 24th, we’ll likely be wrapping up Mega Man 7.

Of course, life happens, and while Mega Man plans, Dr. Wily laughs. So follow The Mega Man Network on Bluesky and Twitter, and we usually announce if we’re doing it about a day out.

“Nadia & David’s Mega Man Mayhem” is a 90-minute stream we’ll be doing about once a month, where the plan is to play through every Mega Man game we can in (mostly) chronological order, according to the timeline. We started with the first Mega Man, and after we finished that, started Mega Man 2, and so on. Next time, we’ll pick up where we left off, and go on like so.

Once Classic is done, we’ll move on to Mega Man X, then Mega Man Zero, and so on. (And with any luck, there will be a “Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection” or something by the time we get to that, but if not, we have a contingency or two in mind.)

And of course, we love interacting with the chat during these streams, so if you’ve got questions about the Mega Man Field Guides from UDON, Legends of the Halcyon Era, poutine recipes, or just want to chat and share the love of Mega Man, drop on in! We’d love to have you!

Keep an eye on our Twitter (or just the Twitter sidebar here) to find out when we’re streaming next! We usually announce it a day or so ahead of time.

And if you’d like to support our streaming habits, please be sure to consider donating to our Ko-fi or Patreon!

Thanks for reading!
