Nadia & David’s Mega Man Mayhem: Mega Man & Bass

After a month of Halloween and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, we’re back!

Mega Man & Bass is one of those little oddities for me in the whole of the Mega Man franchise.

There’s a lot I like about it. The Robot Masters, the ability to play as Bass, the new play style that comes with playing as Bass, the cool Super Famicom cover art, the CD Database, some innovative boss battles… really, there’s just one thing that I’ve never been able to enjoy about Mega Man & Bass for very long.

Playing it.

And as much as that holds true for me, for Nadia, it’s even more so.

Which is why I really had to twist her arm to go along with this one. That meant using a few hacks to try to make the experience a little more fun and a little less frustrating.

Did it work?

Spoiler: Not really, no.

This is going to be a one-and-done, at least for now, unfortunately. Might revisit it at some point in the future, but with our schedule and at the rate things were going for us, we’d be on this for the next year. Which… yeah, no. We’re good and ready for Mega Man X and the other series at this point, so we’re not going to be doing that. Nadia said if there was a rewind feature, she might be more willing. But since Capcom quit believing in those after the original Mega Man Legacy Collection, it looks like that’s only likely if it winds up on Nintendo Switch Online somehow.

Anyway, next time on “Nadia & David’s Mega Man Mayhem”, we’re moving on to Mega Man 9! But before that, we’re probably doing another “Nadia & David Ruin Video Games”, but we haven’t decided on what yet. That’s probably happening around December 6th… anything good coming out around then?

Of course, life happens, and while Mega Man plans, Dr. Wily laughs. So follow The Mega Man Network on Bluesky and Twitter, and we usually announce what we’re doing, if we’re doing it about a day out.

“Nadia & David’s Mega Man Mayhem” is a 90-minute stream we’ll be doing about once a month, where the plan is to play through every Mega Man game we can in (mostly) chronological order, according to the timeline. We started with the first Mega Man, and after we finished that, started Mega Man 2, and so on. Next time, we’ll pick up where we left off, and go on like so.

Once Classic is done, we’ll move on to Mega Man X, then Mega Man Zero, and so on. (And with any luck, there will be a “Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection” or something by the time we get to that, but if not, we have a contingency or two in mind.)

And of course, we love interacting with the chat during these streams, so if you’ve got questions about the Mega Man Field Guides from UDON, Legends of the Halcyon Era, poutine recipes, or just want to chat and share the love of Mega Man, drop on in! We’d love to have you!

Keep an eye on our Twitter (or just the Twitter sidebar here) to find out when we’re streaming next! We usually announce it a day or so ahead of time.

And if you’d like to support our streaming habits, please be sure to consider donating to our Ko-fi or Patreon!

Thanks for reading!
