TMMN-TV: Mega Man Legends – All Special Weapons vs. MegaMan Juno
It’s the end of the road — not for our journey, but our time testing every Special Weapon against every boss in the original Mega Man Legends.
Naturally, this means that RandomPanda is up against none other than the master (but not the Master) of the Main Gate of Kattelox, MegaMan Juno! And while I joked about a glitch last time, for some of the attacks, an actual glitch was needed this time.
Thanks to ShadowRockZX for the scrolling Mega Man Legends menu background!
The glitch in question is summed up thus: MegaMan isn’t tangible when he’s speaking with Data, but if you get knocked back by an enemy when you exit the dialogue, the game ends up leaving you in that state. The downside is that, as we can see, some weapons reset MegaMan’s status and cancel the glitch.
This is the longest video I’ve had to edit to date, and it did not come without issues. After I thought I’d tidied everything up nice and neat and went back to add finishing touches, a lot of stuff I’d edited out (the start of the between-fight cutscenes) came back. I think I had to edit those out three times in total, and I’m not exactly sure why, whether it’s a software issue (maybe it’s not meant for doing this much?), a hardware issue (seems unlikely), or something I did wrong (never rule it out, I guess). As a result, one of the sound effects wound up mistimed, and I didn’t catch it. RandomPanda thought it was good enough and ran with it before telling me, anyway, so that’s what happened there.
I’ve got some ideas that will hopefully help the next time something like this occurs — or ideally, can help prevent it — but it may be a while before I can test it, as we’re rolling on into Mega Man Legends 2 next time, and the bosses aren’t quite so hardy in the earlier going.
In the meantime, if you decide that my skills are enough for something you’re working on, feel free to drop me a line via my socials or email, and we’ll see if we can work something out!
