Come Celebrate Rockman Day by Answering an Unusual Question

It’s June 9th, which means it’s “Rockman Day” once again!

But why is this day, of all days, considered to be Rockman Day? It’s because Japan likes to make numbers into words based on sounds. “Roku” is 6, “ku/kyuu” is 9, and if you put them together, they form “rokku”! (Or “rokuku,” but that takes the fun out of it.)

This year, in observance of the day, I thought I would put out a little question for you to answer in the comments below (or on social media, wherever is good). Normally, I think the expected sort of questions for an occasion like this would be something like “which series do you most want to see a new entry in?”, but I’ve got something different this time.

Rather, the question I have is “which series are you the most satisfied with?” That is to say, suppose that no other games will ever be made in that series again; which one leaves you the most content with where it’s at? It’s one thing to always want more of something you love, but today, let’s appreciate what we have.

For me, personally, I feel like the answer is Mega Man Zero. I feel like, in four chapters (one more than Inti Creates had originally planned to tell, admittedly), they told a full, solid story that reached a satisfying conclusion. Maybe they could have done more with it, but they didn’t really need to.

What about you? Are there any Mega Man series you feel perfectly content with where they left off? (Ideally, ones you like — if you hate Mega Man Legends, for example, then does it matter to you where they stopped?) Share your thoughts!
