Rockman Games Being Delisted from PS Archives in Japan

Some unfortunate news out of Japan this week, as Ucchy-san of Rockman Unity announced on Twitter that four titles being distributed for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation Vita via the PS Archives are due to be delisted in the coming weeks.

Specifically, Rockman 8, Rockman X4, Rockman X5, and most notably of all, Toron ni Kobun (aka The Misadventures of Tron Bonne in its western releases) will no longer be available to purchase as of the 13th of December, 2019.

The reasoning behind the removal has not been given, though one might suggest that all three consoles involved either no longer being supported or nearing the end of its lifespan might have something to do with it. Whether or not this will follow in other regions, or when, is also unknown.

For what it’s worth, Rockman 8, Rockman X4, and Rockman X5 continue to live on in the Rockman Classics Collection 2, Rockman X Anniversary Collection, and Rockman X Anniversary Collection 2 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. However, Ms. Tron isn’t quite so lucky, as this is the only re-release her self-titled misadventures have had.

So if the Japanese versions in particular have any interest to you on these specific PlayStation platforms and you’ve been sitting on it for a while, now is the time to take action.
