New Trailer Details Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection’s Z Chaser Mode

When Capcom announced the upcoming release of Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, they left details of the game’s new mode, called “Z Chaser,” for another time.

That time has now arrived.

As detailed in the trailer above, Z Chaser consists of three types of gameplay. The first is titled “Single Chaser,” wherein you simply race against the clock to clear one of 12 different stages. There are five difficulty levels, ranging from B to A, S, and because why not, Z and ZZ as well. (I guess that’s for those who rank so high they start at the bottom of the alphabet again, or something?)

Then there’s “Double Chaser,” which unfortunately does not involve chasing Maverick infiltrators who have inserted themselves in the Hunter organization. Rather, it allows for head-to-head play locally on the same console.

Finally, there’s “World Record Chaser.” In this mode, you’ll download replay data from the top-ranked players in the world and try to beat their best times. I don’t know who that “Cosmos” guy in the top slot is, but I’ll bet some of you can show this “DRN.001” guy how a real Mega Man takes care of business, right?

Z Chaser, along with the four Mega Man Zero games and two Mega Man ZX games, will be arriving on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam on January 21st, 2020.
