How the West was Worse (and Sometimes Better) for Capcom
Translation and localization can be tricky business. Sometimes things turn out good, and other times… not so much.
Stop Skeletons From Fighting has begun looking back at how screwed up things could get, particularly in the 80’s and 90’s, with a new series they call “How the West was Worse.” This time out, it’s Capcom under the microscope as the SSFF crew looks at how Mega Man and so much more were changed when brought west.
As demonstrated by the video, not every localization of the time has made things worse — some things have become better, or even just infinitely more memorable due to the process.
What are some of your favorite and least-favorite localization triumphs and shortcomings? Feel free to share in the comments below!
