New Rockman X Art Celebrates 25th Anniversary, Hints at Future Product?
Today marks the 25th anniversary of the date when the original Rockman X title was released for the Super Famicom in Japan, with the western version released as Mega Man X for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System around the world in the months following.
To celebrate the occasion at the “Rockman Unite” event in Japan, Rockman Unity’s Takekuni “Ucchy-san” Uchida was joined by Mega Man Battle Network scenario writer and Mega Man 11 stage designer Masakazu Eguchi to reveal the following piece of artwork:

The piece revealed was an illustration by Keisuke Mizuno, who created the design upon which the TruForce Collectibles Mega Man X figure was based, as well as X and Zero’s alternate costumes in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
In addition to those two, this piece also features Alia and Axl in the same style, with a strong emphasis on the latter. The precise purpose of this illustration has yet to be revealed, fueling quite a bit of speculation. Thus far, they’ve only said that it will be used in a future product to be sold on e-Capcom.
Protodude speculates that this might have something to do with the recent teaser from Kotobukiya that is believed to be for a new Rockman X model kit. Alternatively, fans think it could be something that leads into the eventual announcement of a ninth entry in the Mega Man X series.
What could it be? Only time will tell, but you can expect to hear about it here when it does.
