GigaBoots Performs the Ultimate Lag Test on All Versions of Mega Man X Legacy Collection

Hm, maybe I should have called today “Follow-Up Friday” — every article I’ve posted today has been a follow-up to something previous: Takeru’s Mega Man-esque offerings on Famicom, The Completionist’s re-review of Mega Man X2, and now a follow-up to GigaBoots’ recent lag test on Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2.

Previously, they pit the new collection against the original Super Nintendo Entertainment System release of Mega Man X, then followed up comparing Mega Man X Legacy Collection for the PlayStation 4 against Mega Man X Collection for the PlayStation 2 and the originals.

But this time? This time they’ve gone all-out — virtually every version is here (barring iOS and 90’s PC release — was anyone really counting those?). Xbox One? Done. Nintendo Switch? They’ll scratch your itch. Handheld or dock? They’re set to rock. Virtual Console? They’re ready to roll. Super NES Classic? I clearly should have taken more time to think this rhyme thing through.

Suffice to say, they’ve done their homework, and if you want to know the best way to play, then watch away:

And of course, it looks at games from the other platforms/engines, too. Just in case there were any doubts.

With that said, have you noticed any issues of the lagging sort that have hindered your gameplay? Have these videos given you any second thoughts? Or are you so elite that you’ve managed to compensate and wipe the notion from your mind while wiping Sigma’s blight of the face of the Earth?

You know the drill — share in the comments below!
