Mega Man X Legacy Collection vs. Mega Man X Collection and the Original Releases
As you might have seen, I posted my review of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 yesterday (and if not, please feel free to check it out here). And while I did my best to go into depth and detail about everything I noticed while playing through the games featured across these two packages, I wasn’t quite able to cover everything.
In particular, I freely admit I don’t have a very technical eye. Frame rates, resolutions, things like that don’t always register with me as they do others, and even on the occasions they do (which means something must really be wrong), I don’t always know how to finely articulate what’s happening as well as those who are experts at that sort of thing.
Fortunately, there are others who do have an eye for that kind of thing, like the folks at My Life in Gaming. To that end, they’ve put together a video which compares the games featured in Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 to those featured in the decade-plus old Mega Man X Collection, as well as the original releases.
Check it out:
So if you were wondering about some of these aspects of the new release, I hope this was able to answer some of those questions that I could not, including some of the specifics regarding the different screen-fitting options. They even caught some things which had escaped my notice, such as M2 being listed in the credits, leaving us to wonder what their involvement was if Capcom did this in-house.
What do you think? Did Capcom nail it with the latest collection, or is there something you prefer about a previous release? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
