Rumor: Mega Man TOTAKU On the Way?

Capcom just revealed that a new Mega Man amiibo — if not a series of amiibo — is on the way for the release of Mega Man 11 on the Nintendo Switch. However, it appears that Nintendo may not be the only ones producing a new figurine for your collection.

A tip from a purported GameStop employee (who I’ve chosen to keep anonymous) says that they’ve found among their list of “pre-orderables” in the store’s system is a Mega Man TOTAKU figure, which is slated to be released on the first of October — the day before Mega Man 11 comes out.

“No pics, and it’s not on the website yet,” notes the tipster, “but I’ve seen most of the upcoming [TOTAKU] populate in our system prior to their announcement, so this’ll likely be made official pretty soon.”

Perhaps we’ll soon see, and I’ll bring you more as it comes.

For those wondering just what in the heck a TOTAKU even is, it’s ThinkGeek/GameStop’s line of amiibo-like figurines based on a wide variety of video game characters, except that these don’t interact with your games or consoles in any way — they’re just there to look cool for a relatively low price ($9.99 USD).

While the line skews heavily towards Sony properties, there are others in the line from Activision (Crash Bandicoot), Bandai Namco (Heihachi Mishima), Square Enix (Lara Croft), and SEGA (Sonic the Hedgehog), so a Mega Man figure would fit right in.
