Shantae and Shovel Knight are Coming to Blaster Master Zero

So, remember yesterday when I suggested that Shovel Knight could possibly make an appearance in Mighty Gunvolt Burst? That was just me speculating based on what we had seen before, but maybe I wasn’t too far off?

You see, Inti Creates has just announced that not only Shovel Knight, but also WayForward’s Shantae will both be coming soon to Blaster Master Zero, bringing with them unique moves and abilities (and paint jobs for the legendary SOPHIA III). Check it out:

Shantae will be unbottled on July 6th, while Shovel Knight will strike the earth on August 3rd, where they will be free for the first two weeks after release (though oddly, the trailer says Shovel Knight won’t be free until August 5th). After that two-week period expires, the characters will be available to purchase for $1.99/€1.99 each.

So while this doesn’t confirm anything at all for Mighty Gunvolt Burst, it would certainly make that game appear to be more of an outlier if Shovel Knight didn’t show up, wouldn’t it? And hey, maybe we’ll see Shantae there, too?
