Inti Creates Reveals Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack for Switch
As noted a few days ago, Inti Creates was scheduled to appear at a BitSummit panel to make two announcements for upcoming Nintendo Switch titles, one of which will be Mighty Gunvolt Burst. Well, the time has come and the announcements have been made!
In addition to more Mighty Gunvolt Burst info (which has enough info on its own for a separate post), the other big announcement is that the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack is coming to the Nintendo Switch!
The big highlight for the Nintendo Switch version is the increase from 30 frames per second to 60. According to Inti Creates’ press release, the focus on the visual aspects of the Nintendo 3DS (probably referring to the 3D) meant that the FPS were capped at 30, but now they’re going all-out with 60FPS for the first time on Nintendo Switch.
“The biggest difference between the former 30 FPS and the new 60 FPS can be felt while playing as Copen, the super-quick, high-flying playable character from Gunvolt 2,” the press release notes.
That’s not all, however, as all of the downloadable content from the Nintendo 3DS version will be here, too. That’s including new bosses, extra stages, bonus modes, and even a new song, all pre-loaded with this version of the game.
But wait, there’s more! HD Rumble is included so you can feel the jolt of Gunvolt’s electrical attacks, the menus have been revamped to account for the switch (no pun intended) from a two-screen layout to single (boasting a more intuitive design and easy-to-see menus), and a brand new song, too. On top of all that, the Switch’s high resolution means in-game events and text look “better than ever.”
Further adjustments include changing the Kudos system from the first game to the one used in the second, while adjustments have been made to some stages in order to better balance out the difficulty, among other minor tweaks to improve gameplay. And for those curious, the game will support English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Japanese languages. Oh, and you can use the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, too.
Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack hits the Nintendo Switch on August 31st, 2017, with a price that’s yet to be determined.
