Rockman & Forte: Challenger From the Future Receives Fan Translation
Way back in the year of 1999, Bandai released a handheld gaming device called the WonderSwan into the Japanese market to compete with the Game Boy. Among the games available for the device was a Bandai-developed semi-sequel to Rockman & Forte (aka Mega Man & Bass) known as Rockman & Forte: Mirai Kara no Chousensha, or as we would better understand it, Mega Man & Bass: Challenger From the Future.
Of course, being a game developed by a company other than Capcom for a system that never even left Japan, hope of seeing a translated release from either company so many years later has been all but nil. Thankfully, however, one can still look to the fans.
Siliconera reports that one such fan has finally gone through with creating a translation patch for the game, which follows Mega Man and Bass as they seek to unravel the mystery of a new force who arrives on the scene — and has strange ties to both the Blue Bomber’s past and future!
As in the game bearing a similar title, both Dr. Light and Dr. Wily’s creations control differently, each with their own special set of skills. A more interesting difference in the game itself is that the enemy bosses, named Dimensions, are only five in number.
Hm, does this make Challenger From the Future a 5D game?
Thanks to Michael Batista for the tip!
