Nintendo Directs Bring All Kinds of Blue News

All sorts of new and interesting things came with the March 3rd edition of “Nintendo Direct,” and as luck would have it, some of them involved the Blue Bomber and one of his successors.

First and foremost, we have a better look at the new trailer for Azure Striker Gunvolt 2:

With that, we have a Summer 2016 release date (and tentative price of $14.99 USD) as Inti Creates has opened up a teaser website. More informative, however, is the update made to their main site which describes the story of the three main characters and more.

On top of all that, Inti Creates has put the original game on Nintendo 3DS on sale for 33 percent off until June 1st. However, if you haven’t played the game already, you may want to hold off for just a short bit, as I may have an even better deal for you.

Nintendo also revealed a new feature exclusive to the New Nintendo 3DS: Virtual Console games from the Super Nintendo Entertainment System library. Japan’s Nintendo Direct announced many titles which were not a part of the North American initial lineup, four of which should be particularly noteworthy to visitors of this site:

Indeed, it appears that Rockman X, Rockman X2, Rockman X3, and Rockman 7 are expected on the service soon, though it does not seem that a firm release date has been announced for them just yet. With any luck, it won’t be too long before we see them released here — May is just around the corner, after all.

For those wondering, however, there are no discounts on these Virtual Console games if you already own them on the Wii or Wii U. According to Quarter Disorder, Japan gets a 50 percent launch discount when buying more than one game, but no such luck here.
