USgamer Interviews “The Maestro of Mega Man,” Manami Matsumae
Over on USgamer, Jeremy Parish has wrapped up his cover story for the week about Brave Wave Productions, a label dedicated to bringing attention to legendary video game musicians and allowing them to compose new works, with an interview with none other than Manami Matsumae.
For those unaware, Matsumae was an early employee of Capcom, acting as a composer for the very first game in the Mega Man franchise. She would make a return to the series many years later with Mega Man 9 and has even helped composer tracks for Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight and the upcoming Mighty No. 9 by Comcept.
Click here to read about how she came to work for Capcom, her return to composing video game music, where she went in the interim, her relationship with Brave Wave, and more — all while listening to a sampling of the various tunes she’s composed over the years.
