Mighty No. 9 Demo is More Than It Appears to Be
Those who have received the Mighty No. 9 demo as a result of backing Comcept’s Kickstarter — or simply because they know someone who did and took advantage of the absence of DRM — might be surprised to learn that there’s more to the demo than they realized. A lot more.
As it’s to be expected in today’s world of individuals who will data mine any work released for the PC — and even some console games, for that matter — some digging has been done into the Mighty No. 9 demo, revealing that the transformations, their animations, and even Ray’s content are all in there, but some missing scripts prevent them from being readily usable.
According to MadArtRaven, who performed the deed:
ALL of [Ray’s] data is in the demo, very well can be playable and I am about 80% sure this includes her stage data as well. Fun fact, Ray is the only Mighty number to have a rig-able/animated mouth, meaning she CAN open her mouth and isn’t just drawn on there like Beck or Call’s.
If you’re worried about possible spoilers, then turn back now, as the following video shows off images of the models for Beck’s different forms, as well as Ray and Call.
MadArtRaven adds: “Tell you what, I will upload a video if MY stretch goals in views, I will upload more videos showing off MN9 Assets. Note that it will take a day or two before I can upload/make them so be patient but don’t worry, there wont be any large delays for them either :P. Might even include new music too.
2,500+ views, I will upload a speed ripping, texturing, and fixing of Beck’s Mighty No. 6’s form.
5,000+ views, I will upload a speed ripping, texturing, and fixing of Beck’s Mighty No. 4’s form.
7,500+ views, I will upload a speed ripping, texturing, and fixing of Beck’s Mighty No. Xel form.
More might be added at another time depending :P”
Finally, if you still want more, here are some images of the models (MadArtRaven says that the models themselves aren’t being released out of respect to Comcept), as well as a little bit of artwork.
If nothing else, this should at least put to rest those concerns that Beck would not be transforming.
