Keiji Inafune Appearing with Mighty No. 9 at Waku Waku NYC

While at Otakon, one of my roommates passed along some information which may be of interest to some of you, particularly those who can make it to New York City for the weekend of August 29th and 30th, 2015.

A new convention called “Waky Waku NYC” will be launching on those dates, and they’ve lined up an impressive array of guests from the worlds of anime (including Dragon Ball Z screenwriter Takao Koyama and Dragon Ball Super screenwriter Makoto Koyama), music, art, fashion, cosplay, and even cooking! Naturally, video games is another category, and headlining this is none other than Comcept head Keiji Inafune himself.

For his part, Inafune will be the focus of the stage presentation titled “Keiji Inafune: Mighty No. 9 Game Demonstration,” during which he will show off his latest (and by that point, soon to be released) work for 45 minutes. The following day, he will play host to the panel “Mighty No. 9, Keiji Inafune & Kickstarter,” an hour-long look at — presumably — the path he has taken to bring Mighty No. 9 to this point.

Those eager to try the game will have the opportunity to do so by way of a playable demo. What’s more, Inafune will follow his stage presentation with an appearance in the games area where the demo will be on display. Ten lucky people (who have probably already been selected by this point) will even get to play the game alongside the man himself!

Finally, there will be an opportunity to get Inafune’s autograph on both days.
