Rare Mega Man 6 Tops Off Absolutely Massive Mega Man Collection
I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know a whole lot when it comes to different versions of a video game. Something like a port or a localization, sure, or even something like changing some of the content of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time so that Ganondorf coughs up green blood instead of red? That’s stuff I know.
But once you start talking about serial numbers and the like? That’s where you lose me.
Not a fellow who goes by the simple name of “Forte,” however. Over on the NintendoAge forum, he reveals that he has acquired a “non -1 variant” of the Nintendo-published Nintendo Entertainment System game Mega Man 6.

The most surprising part is this copy originated in the US rather than South America. Judging by the sticker on the back, it may have been a catalog order from someone that had these laying around as test copies. Or, Capcom sent these out as “preowned” copies for sale by some US company. I am asking the person I bought this from where they got it originally (they claim to be the original owner) so maybe this mystery can be solved for good.
Like I said, I don’t know jack about that kind of stuff. But when it’s coming from a person who has a collection that looks like this…

…I’m willing to take him at his word that he has some idea of what he’s talking about.
Mind, that is only a small part of his collection. If you’d like to see the whole thing in all its majesty, click right here.
