Worlds Collide in Sonic & Mega Man Marathon

‘Tis the season for Mega Man marathons, it would seem. In addition to the recently-reported Mega Man-athon, the New Year Gamers will be holding a special livestreaming marathon from 2pm EST on January 1st until they finish on January 2nd, 2014 called “Worlds Collide: A Sonic/Mega Man Marathon for Relief in the Philippines”.

A wide variety of games from both blue heroes’ respective series will be played, including Mega Man Network Transmission, Mega Man Zero 2, Mega Man X, Mega Man X2, “Mega Man X3: The Zero Project”, Mega Man X4, Mega Man through Mega Man 4, Mega Man 7, Mega Man 9, Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, and Mega Man Legends for the Blue Bomber, while the Blue Blur will be represented by Sonic Generations, Sonic Colors, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and “Sonic Classic Heroes”. Plus, one other “mystery game” will also be played during the proceedings, and you can see the entire schedule they have laid out for each game here.

You’ll be able to catch the stream at Zako Live and at Super 1UP Games via Red Pill Gaming, and all donations will go to the Canadian Red Cross to aid those in need in the Philippines. Donations of $5 or more being entered into a drawing to receive the entire 12-issue “Worlds Collide” crossover comic book event from Archie in digital form by way of Comixology.
