Mega Man X Hits Wii U Virtual Console with a Special Deal

The perennial Super NES classic Mega Man X has arrived on the Wii U Virtual Console today, carrying with it a price of just $7.99. Alternatively, you can pay just $1.50 if you already have the game transferred over from your Wii Virtual Console, allowing you off-TV play with the GamePad controller, save states, controller customization, and Miiverse interaction.

If you don’t already have the game from the Wii and don’t want to pay the full $8 price tag, then there is one other option for you: Purchase the just-released Ghosts ‘N Goblins NES game for $4.99 through the Wii U’s eShop, and by returning and choosing the Virtual Console Featured Offer, you can get Mega Man X for half price at $4.

However, do take note that it seems whichever game you purchase second is the one you’ll get for half price. That means if you purchase Mega Man X first, you’ll be able to get Ghosts ‘N Goblins for about $2.50. Of course, if you already own Ghosts ‘N Goblins on the Wii Virtual Console, you can upgrade that for just $1.
