Archie’s New York Comic Con 2011 Panels and Bonuses

Planning on attending the New York Comic Con, being held October 13th to 17th at New York City’s Javits Center? If so, then you’ll want to know about some of Archie’s Mega Plans for Mega Fans of Mega Man…s.
Sure, we already told you about the exclusive comic cover variants (for which we’re still jealous of the Sonic fans, fancy that), but there is quite a bit more going on. Well, two things, but they’re pretty good things.

The first is a panel being held from 1:30pm to 2:30pm on Saturday, October 15th in Room 1A02. Titled “Archie Comics: Riverdale and Beyond,” it appears to be something of a company overview with several of the publisher’s top brass and “major announcements, special guest stars, digital and much more!” And while there is nothing specifically confirming or denying anything to do with the Blue Bomber, “all attendees will receive giveaway bags with over $100 worth of content including B&V Beach Party, Archie: Will You Marry Me?, Mega Man, and Sonic comics!” So, that’s certainly something.

But for those desiring something a little more focused, they may find what they are looking for in Room 1A03 from 10:45am to 11:45am the following day. The “Archie Video Games: Sonic and Mega Man” panel highlights 20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as the new adventures of our favorite lab assistant-turned-super fighting robot. Writer Ian Flynn, artist Patrick “Spaz” Spaziante, Editor Paul Kaminski, Archie President Mike Pellerito, and Executive Director of Publicity and Marketing Alex Segura will all be there, promising “big Sonic and Mega Man news, teasers, artwork, and more!”

Oh, and for completion’s sake, those who attend will be able to take part in a drawing for a Mighty 7 poster, signed by Stan Lee himself.
