Fans Continue to Rally ‘Round Rockman DASH 3
Let’s hear it for alliteration in headlines.
Anyway, though the furor surrounding the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3 has died down a little bit, there are still a few things happening throughout the fandom as those who feel spurned by the actions of Capcom continue to do their best to show their support for the Blue Bomber, and their chosen branch of the franchise.
Perhaps one of the most interesting comes to us from our friends at Joystiq, by way of MMN reader Vas. Paul Barrett (whose surname we are unsure if he adopted, or was just a really interesting coincidence) of the 100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3 Facebook group recently took out an ad in his local paper, The Gateway Shopper, which apparently has a circulation of around 9,838.
Check below for some clearer pics of the ad, and more.
It’s too bad this wasn’t in our contest several months ago. One can only wonder how it might have fared.
Another show of support comes from That Dashe Kid, who you might remember had previously made a nice tribute to the game itself, and moreover, the long wait for it to be announced.
But with those dreams now all but dashed, a new piece has been created with the help of several fans:
“The long-anticipated sequel to my favorite video game in the world was abruptly canceled,” she notes, “so I did what all normal people do in that situation and animated a choir spoofing a smash from one of Broadway’s most beloved shows of all time.”
And while we aren’t sure what Destructoid might have said about the video, a disclaimer on the video notes that they are “full of baloney,” and that the video is “a dramatic re-enactment, not a rally to arms.”
“Buy what you’re interested in,” she continues, “but exercise extreme caution if Capcom thinks it’s popular, or you may find yourself spending more than you expected.” We think the last thing we got from Capcom was Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 on sale for Xbox LIVE Arcade (so no DRM), so we’re not too worried…
Anyway, you can find the lyrics and list of singers in the description here, and if you are so inclined, there is even a link from which you can download the song.
Thanks to Melvin and Tobias for passing the video along; sorry it took so long to get up!
